Seongsan Sunrise Peak
(The evening before).
This crater was formed over 5,000 year by hydrovolcanic eruptions.
...and visiting this site is listed as the number one thing to do in all of Korea :)
Wake up time was at 5:00 am.
Our luxurious motel was a brisk, seven minute walk from the base of the peak, and sunrise was set for 6:20 am. We had a 30-minute, 180-meter climb ahead of us and we did not want to be late!
Anxiously awaiting the sunrise.
At first, it was cloudy, and we wondered if we had missed the sunrise as the sky was getting lighter.
Once the sun finally began to peek through the clouds, there were oohs-and-aahhs from the crowd, as the glowing orb flared red. It literally appeared as if by magic.

It was quite steep and our legs felt wobbly once we reached ground level.

The ocean was so vast you could practically see the curvature of the earth.

The coastlines are primarily made of lava stones, not sandy beaches, as the islands were formed by volcanoes.
